Catanduanes Hit by Earthquake with 3.6 Magnitude

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.6 magnitude quake in Catanduanes this morning, January 26, 2019.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 2.4 magnitude quake in La Union. There were no expected damage or aftershock due to the said quake.

Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in PH. Today, January 26, 2019, Catanduanes was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6.

According to Phivolcs, the quake that jolted a part of Catanduanes was located 13.60°N, 124.72°E – 039 km S 81° E of Baras at 08:57:21 pm. The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 008 km. depth of focus.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there are expected aftershock and damage caused by the quake.
