Skaters Team in the PH is Ready to Compete for 1st Winter ‘Children of Asia’ International Games in Russia

PH SKATERS – The Philippine skaters team is set to compete for the 1st Winter ‘Children of Asia’ international games in Russia.

The Philippine figure skating championships were organized by the sport’s governing body, Philippine Skating Union.

Contest include ladies’ singles, men’s singles, ice dancing, and pair skating. Winners will be given a medal and a chance to represent the country in abroad.

Based on a report from Manila Bulletin, the figure skaters in the Philippines were set to compete in Russia. It is the 1st Winter ‘Children of Asia’ International Games.

The figure skating completion will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia on February 8 to 17, 2019.

According to the report, Frank Masayon and Dale Feliciano are the head coaches for representatives of Philippines team to compete in Russia.

The coaches handled the 15-year-old figure skaters Dianne Gabrielle Panlilio and Charmaine Skye Chua.

Speed skaters are Lora Sanchez, Anthea de Guzman, Kayla Gonzales, and Xsandrie Guimba.

Charmaine Skye Chua expressed her excitement and gratitude for the great opportunity to show the competitiveness of the figure skaters in the Philippines.

“I’m excited and thankful to be part of this once in a lifetime event. I will do my best to represent my country and my school,” she said.

While Dianne Gabrielle Panlilio stated that she will show the good impressions for her country and ready to step into the game.

“I expect to put out good performances in my programs, enough to make a good placing in this games and make my country proud,” Panlilio said.

Based on the report, Coach Frank Masayon said these skaters have been preparing for the event for years now. This competition will measure how these athletes have improved in this kind of sport.

Other countries that are expected to participate in the competition include Thailand, Cambodia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, China, Nepal, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Jordan, and Vietnam.
