Military, ISIS Involved in Ongoing “Firefight” in Sultan Dumalondong, Lanao Del Sur

“FIREFIGHT” – An encounter between the members of the military and ISIS sparked in a barangay in Sultan Dumalondong, Lanao Del Sur.

Currently, a “firefight” in Barangay Sumalindao, Sultan Dumalondong, Lanao Del Sur is happening.

The initial reports that crossed the surface stated that the 55th Infantry Batallion was in an encounter against the Dawlah Islamiyah (DI).

Reportedly, the military were against around 20 members of the DI. The latter is led by a certain Abu Dar. Ltc. Gerry Besana confirmed the incident and assured that air support were already sent to the military.

When news reports regarding the encounter broke in, some people thought that the military was in an encounter with members of the Abu Sayyaf. The incident is ongoing and updates have yet to cross the surface at that time.

Recently, a news report in Remate stated that the “firefight” in Sultan Dumalondong, Lanao Del Sur involved the members of the military and the ISIS.

According to the report, the encounter is still ongoing and three(3) members of the military were wounded. Meanwhile, they are already in a stable condition.
