A Patient from Valenzuela Tests Negative for Meningococcemia Infection

To avoid such disease, people are advised to maintain a healthy lifestyle and exercise. It is also suggested to frequently wash hands with soap and keep distance from Meningococcemia patients.
The bacteria on that disease was not contagious, however, it can be fatal most especially when the victim is a child.
Based on a report from GMA, there was a patient in Valenzuela City who was suspected to be infected with meningococcemia.
The patient was immediately delivered at the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital. The hospital announced via Twitter that the patient was negative from the disease.
“Negatibo ang resulta ng isinagawang pagsusuri kaugnay ng hinihinalang kaso ng meningococcemia sa Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital (VCEH)”
According to the report, the Valenzuela patient was brought to the hospital right away after showing some symptoms of the fatal disease. The patient was isolated at the hospital’s emergency room for 12 hours.
Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque revealed that there were two cases of meningococcemia in Navotas and Pateros.
Based on the report, Francisco Duque stated that there are 200 cases reported yearly and advised the Filipino people to live a healthy lifestyle.
