According to a report in Inquirer, Villafuerte further said that the suspension is to ensure the safety of everyone, especially children. This is also to give the people more time to cope up from tropical depression Usman.

Camarines Sur was placed in a state of calamity after Usman wreaked havoc in Bicol and Eastern Visayas.

As per the report, meanwhile, earlier, the local government unit in Naga City declared suspension of classes from January 3-6 (Thursday-Sunday).
Naga City Mayor John Bongat said that this is because there are city schools and barangays that need to be “cleaned up,”
