NCRPO Chief Eleazar Speaks on Deployment of Cops for the Traslacion 2019

TRASLACION 2019 – National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Guillermo Eleazar spoke on the deployment of cops for the celebration of Traslacion this year.

The Philippines is a Christian country and lots of religious celebrations are being held every year. In every event or feast, devotees and religious individuals gather.

One of those religious events that always never fail to gather a huge part of the Filipino populace is the Feast of the Black Nazarene, an image of the Lord Jesus Christ in maroon and gold.

The said event is also called Traslacion. During its celebration, the image of Jesus Christ carrying a cross is brought to Quiapo church. It never fails to gather millions of devotees and religious people.

Based on a recent report on GMA News, speaking to Unang Balita, NCRPO Chief Guillermo Eleazar revealed the estimated number of people that will attend the Traslacion 2019.

According to the police chied, it is expected that more than 2.5 million people will attend the re-enactment of the transfer of the image of the Lord Jesus Christ from Intramuros to Quiapo.

In line with the huge number of expected attendees of Traslacion 2019, 7,100 cops will be deployed according to NCRPO Chief Eleazar. It is for the safety of the devotees and everyone in the area.

“Basically around 2,000 plus will be coming from the Manila Police District and 5,000 from other districts pati nayung regional mobile force battalion,” the NCRPO Chief expressed.

Based on the report, Eleazar also expressed that “No Fly Zone” and “No Sail Zone” will be observed to secure the devotees. With regards to the shutting down of the signals of mobile phones, the authorities are still looking into it.
