Ateneo bullying incident post of Jay Sonza led to the suspension of his FB account
The FB account of veteran journalist Jay Sonza is suspended for 30 days after he posted something about the controversial Ateneo bullying incident.
As the said incident went viral on social media, people from different walks of life expressed their opinions.
Sonza, as he is known to be vocal about this opinion about social and political issues, posted his thoughts about the bullying incident in Ateneo.
When an alleged address of the identified bully Joaquin Montes circulated on social media, the veteran journalist also posted it on his Facebook account.
It was found out later on that the said address belongs to the family of Rully Taculod.
The real residents of the presumed address of Montes received harassment. They already asked helped from Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group to identify who spread their address on social media.
Those who will be found guilty will face identity theft and unjust vexation complaints, based on PEP’s report.
Amid this issue, Jay Sonza explained why his FB account is suspended.
According to the report, the suspension started last December 21, the same day when he posted the fake address.
Reportedly, this is the statement from Sonza:
“Sorry friends, I can’t interact with you on FB for the next 30 days because my account is suspended for post made in Pilipino. They say it’s against their standard. Kapag Tinagalog pala
ang isang grammatically wrong post ngmga [family name ofstudent accused of bullying] ay contrary to
He posted that on December 21 but the post remained for several days and it was just deleted on December 24.
Based on the report, one thing is a bit puzzling on this matter. Since, his FB account was suspended on December 21, who deleted the post on December 24, him or the FB?
Another thing that netizens are thinking is that the suspension of Jay Sonza‘s account was not due to his previous post but for the fake address that he posted.
What can you say about this?
