Latest Weather Updates Released By PAGASA (December 26, 2018)
PAGASA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather updates for today, December 26, 2018 (Wednesday).
Daily, PAGASA releases updates on weather for the awareness of the public and to warn the people of possible storm entry, landfall, and other matters related to the weather condition.
For today, December 26, 2018, the weather agency has already released the updates on the weather condition.
Based on a recent report on Philstar, PAGASA said in its latest weather updates for today, December 26, 2018, that Tropical Depression “Usman” might advance into a tropical storm on Friday.
According to the weather agency, TD “Usman” which moves west-northwest at 20kph may become a tropical storm prior to its possible landfall over Eastern Samar.
The tropical depression is forecast to pass Cebu, Palawan, Panay Island, Sulu Sea, and norther Leyte following its possible landfall.
Based on the report, PAGASA also said in its latest weather updates that Eastern Visayas and Bicol region landfall experience moderate to heavy rains on Thursday and Friday.
As of 3:00 o’clock in the morning, TD “Usman” was located at 795 km. East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur with maintained strength and a maximum sustained winds of 45 kph. It has 60 kph gustiness.
Based on the report, signal no. 1 may be raised in Northern Caraga and Eastern Visayas on Wednesday. The TD is forecast to weaken while it passes Visayas and may strengthen again as it crosses the West Philippine Sea.
