MMDA Confirms Schedule of the Suspension of Number Coding for the Holidays
NUMBER CODING – The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) confirmed the schedule of the suspension of the number coding for Christmas and New Year celebration.
Undeniably, due to the numerous vehicles in Manila, a coding has to be implemented for road organization and to prevent traffic as much as possible.
But now that the Christmas and New Year is fast-approaching, surely, many people are busy and need to bring along with them their cars when they shop for the holidays. Many are expecting for the suspension of the coding.
Recently, through a text message sent to ABS-CBN News, MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago confirmed the number coding suspension schedule for Metro Manila.
According to the MMDA spokesperson, the coding will be lifted for private vehicles starting December 24, 2018 until January 2, 2019.
Based on the report, with regards to the provincial buses that are taking Metro Manila route, the coding will be lifted starting December 21, 2018 until January 2, 2019.
The Las Piñas City and the Makati City have their own coding too. As of this writing, the two cities have yet to make an announcement if they will be suspending it or not.
