Meralco to Increase Electricity Rates of Consumer This Month of December
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) was set to raise the electricity rates this December 2018 after a series of consecutive price rollback.
The power distribution giant will impose an additional charge in the monthly electricity bill of their valued customers.
The increase on the monthly bill of electricity consumers will start this month of December 2018 due to the soaring prices of generation charge.
The escalating cost of electricity in the wholesale electricity spot market and the increased charges of power plants also contribute to the soaring power rates.
Meralco will impose P0.09 per kilowatt hour (kWh) to the monthly bill of the Meralco consumers, according to the report of the Facebook page “Super Radyo DZBB 594khz”.
However, according to the report of Radyo La Verdad, the electricity bill will increase by 5.5 cents/kWh that would add P11 for those who were consuming 200 kilowatts per month.
