The issue of Miss Earth harassment happening since 2005 already?

MISS EARTH HARASSMENT – The candidates from previous Miss Earth pageants surfaces along with harassment confessions from the sponsors.

At the last quarter of this year, the issue about the harassment of sponsors to Miss Earth candidates has rocked the headlines of online news reports. The confessions from Miss Canada Jaime YvonneMiss Guam, and Miss England Abbey-Anne Gyles-Brown has alarmed the people.

Miss Earth Harassment

The National Privacy Commission (NPC) even ordered the organizers of Miss Earth 2018 explain their “data protection measures” regarding issues about the delegates’ number given to someone without their consent and for taking their passport away from them.

And now, more and more beauty queens are speaking up about the issue and since then found out that the harassment accordingly existed since 2005 already and it was just recently when the candidates who have reportedly experienced it has spoken up about this controversy.

See more confessions below:

Miss Earth England 2017 Charlotte Sophie Brooke said, “There are so many men (and women) who abuse their power. Cruz has been a sponsor for many years, his money has so far been his bubble, his way of being able to get away with sexual harassment, of avoiding consequences.”

I’ve received a lot of messages regarding the sexual harassment that’s ongoing with #missearth so I’m going to take this opportunity to make an official statement. • Firstly, I would like to say that the team leaders took amazing care of us, when they found out about the actions of Cruz they did what they could to protect us from him. They are not in control of his actions, nor did they pass along any private information of the delegates in my group. • That being said, Cruz is a predator. He approached MANY of the girls, offered them luxury holidays, trips on his private yacht, nice dinners and expensive handbags. Most of us laughed him off because we knew he was a sponsor and we could not be as blunt or rude to him as you would be in a normal situation. He didn’t stop when we told him no. My own personal experience of him was after repeatedly declining his offers and asking to be left alone, he would turn up to my hotel and pester me there. I mentioned the story where me and Miss Samoa were in the lobby (waiting for one of the staff to bring us an ice cream haha) and Cruz turned up. We were both ignoring him and Cruz was talking to some of the other girls but then suddenly started shouting “England England come here”, me and Miss Samoa looked at each other and just ran into the lift to get away from him. • We warned everybody in Carol Productions about him and they said that he would be removed as a sponsor, that he wouldn’t do this again. The real shame is that I have so many fond memories of Miss Earth and I don’t want to hurt the organisation but there needs to be a lesson here. There are so many men (and women) who abuse their power. Cruz has been a sponsor for many years, his money has so far been his bubble, his way of being able to get away with sexual harassment, of avoiding consequences. The shocking thing is he probably doesn’t think he’s in the wrong. • But Mr Cruz, you are. • And to every person who sends threatening messages to the girls who’ve come forward, to those die hard fans who have messaged me telling me they are lying, I beg you to open your eyes. Imagine it was your daughter, sister or mother. • Girls, I stand with you. #metoo

Miss Earth Canada 2005 Katie McClure also chimed, “At every event there would be a sponsor or multiple sponsors. We would be dressed up and in our sashes and we would be expected to mingle and make nice. Have a drink in your hand but don’t get drunk. Look provocative but not slutty. Make nice with the sponsors but don’t get in too deep. I thought everyone knew that this was the game we were playing when we signed up.”
