The issue of Miss Earth harassment happening since 2005 already?

At the last quarter of this year, the issue about the harassment of sponsors to Miss Earth candidates has rocked the headlines of online news reports. The confessions from Miss Canada Jaime Yvonne, Miss Guam, and Miss England Abbey-Anne Gyles-Brown has alarmed the people.
The National Privacy Commission (NPC) even ordered the organizers of Miss Earth 2018 explain their “data protection measures” regarding issues about the delegates’ number given to someone without their consent and for taking their passport away from them.
And now, more and more beauty queens are speaking up about the issue and since then found out that the harassment accordingly existed since 2005 already and it was just recently when the candidates who have reportedly experienced it has spoken up about this controversy.

Miss Earth England 2017 Charlotte Sophie Brooke said, “There are so many men (and women) who abuse their power. Cruz has been a sponsor for many years, his money has so far been his bubble, his way of being able to get away with sexual harassment, of avoiding consequences.”

Miss Earth Canada 2005 Katie McClure also chimed, “At every event there would be a sponsor or multiple sponsors. We would be dressed up and in our sashes and we would be expected to mingle and make nice. Have a drink in your hand but don’t get drunk. Look provocative but not slutty. Make nice with the sponsors but don’t get in too deep. I thought everyone knew that this was the game we were playing when we signed up.”
