LTFRB Lowers Down Jeepney Fare On Monday

JEEPNEY FARE – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) recently announced a jeepney fare reduction on Monday (Dec ember 3).

A report in CNN states that Martin Delgra, LTFRB chairman, revealed that an exact fare cut will be announced via a resolution board. This is due to the continuous slump of fuel prices.

He further added that the prices of crude gradually decreased after the prices of fuel have peaked some time in October. Delgra noted that Secretary Tugade directed them to rollback the fare rate.

As per the report, the  fare cut came less than a month after a jeepney fare hike was implemented in parts of the country. Jeepney passengers in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Southern Tagalog were asked to pay a minimum fare of P10 during November.

Delgra lastly said that they will push the the petition to reduce the jeepney fare to P8.
