ABS-CBN’s “fat memo” caused the depression of Jessy Mendiola
Actress Jessy Mendiola admitted that the “fat memo” she received from ABS-CBN caused her depression.
In this present era of the Philippine entertainment industry, Jessy is definitely one of the sexiest female celebrity.
She was even hailed as one of the FHM’s sexiest Filipina. On the other hand, through her social media accounts, the Kapamilya actress has been sharing her struggle to stay fit.
Jessy said that critics used to call her “pata queen”. She said that she went through depression because of the body-shaming she received. Despite that criticism, she strived to be who she is now.

However, just recently, the actress admitted that she got depressed when she received a “fat memo” from ABS-CBN.
Based on the article published in PEP, that memo served as a warning to the actress that she should lose weight before she will be given a project again.
“I got very depressed, parang dumating ako sa point na, ‘Ah, ‘eto na lang pala talaga ang halaga ko.’ Kung hindi ako sexy, wala akong projects at hindi nila ako makikita as who I am,” she shared.

For almost two years, Jessy did not have any show or movie in the Kapamilya network.
It was said that her home network gave her time to dispose of her extra pounds.
Previously, she had a stint in Ang Probinsyano and she has an MMFF 2018 movie with Jericho Rosales, The Girl In The Orange Dress.

“It proves that you can’t get work when you gain weight. That’s the kind of society we have,” Jessy shared, based on the report.
She also said that at first, the bashing about her weight made her sad. On the other hand, she realized that it was part of her job and so she accepted it and took a step to change.
