ABS-CBN and PNP’s signing of Memorandum of Understanding for ‘Ang Probinsyano’
ABS-CBN and the Philippine National Police (PNP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Ang Probinsyano.
It can be recalled that PNP previously complained about the show’s format. For the agency, the image of the policemen in the Philippines is being tarnished.
The issue also reached the agency of the Department of Local and Interior Government (DILG), which handles the PNP.
In a previous article, DILG Assistant Secretary Jonathan Malaya said that they thought of filing a case against the TV series.
It did not happen but in a joint statement of ABS-CBN and DILG, the issue has been ironed out.
Following the dialogue between the two parties, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
Ang Probinsyano lead actor and director Coco Martin, together with ABS-CBN executives Ms. Cory Vidanes, Sir Deo Endrinal & MTRCB Chairperson Rachel Arenas went to the National Headquarters of PNP.
There, the said Memorandum was signed.
“Ms. Cory Vidanes, MTRCB Chairperson @rachelarenas8 & PNP Chief PDG Oscar Albayalde, Memorandum of Understanding Signing between Philippine National Police and ABS-CBN Maraming Salamat po!” one of the post on Instagram account @cocomartin_ph said.
Apparently, the previous conflict was ironed out through their talks. It also means that the PNP is supporting the Kapamilya drama-action series once again.
In line with this signing of Memorandum of Understanding between PNP and ABS-CBN for Ang Probinsyano, netizens expressed various reactions.
Here are some comments, based on a popular showbiz site.
