Unfortunate Incident “Alabama Mall Shooting” Leaves Gunman Dead, 2 Injured
ALABAMA MALL SHOOTING – An unfortunate incident that happened in a mall in Alabama left the gunman dead and two (2) people injured.
Recently, a very sad and alarming incident happened inside the largest mall in Alabama before 10 in the evening. The unfortunate incident took place at the Hoover’s Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham.
Based on a recent report on CNN, the incident began with a conflict involving a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old teen. The former was reportedly armed.
Hoover Police Captain Gregg Rector expressed that they do not believe that the teen was armed. The police said that the 21-year-old opened fire and shot the 18-year-old twice.
According to the report, the police added that a security of the mall who was on duty during the “Alabama mall shooting” confronted the 21-year-old gunman while he was running away. The security guard shot him which left the gunman dead.
Unfortunately, a 12-year-old girl was affected by the incident and was left injured. She and the 18-year-old teen were brought to the hospital.
Based on the report, Rector expressed that it is not yet clear with regards to the person responsible for the injury obtained by the girl. Speaking to CNN, the police assured that her condition is stable now following an operation.
With regards to the 18-year-old teen involved in the incident, he was in a serious condition on the way to the hospital. The incident caused the people worries and many tried to hide on closets.
“They (put) us in supply closets and locked the doors. And then we sat there for five to 10 minutes… Then they opened the escape-route doors,” Lexie Joyner’s statement to WBRC.
Based on the report, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the “Alabama mall shooting” leaving the gunman dead and two (2) people injured while the guard who ran after the gunman is on administrative leave.
