El Niño Watch For Possible Dry Spell On December 2018 Raised By PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA raised an El Niño watch due to the bigger chance of possible dry spell in the country for the month of December 2018.

On Thursday (November 22, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) remain alert for a possible dry spell next month.

The International Research Institute for Climate and Society announced that there is a higher chance of prevailing El Niño next month.

El Niño Watch

An 80 percent of El Niño prevailing during the northern hemisphere winter would probably occur from December 2018 until February 2019.

Meanwhile, the possible dry spell has 55-60 percent chance of continuing during the northern hemisphere spring on Mar 2019 up to May 2019.

A few months ago, PAGASA warned the Filipino people of a possible dry spell during the first quarter of 2019.

The weather agency also predicted that the country has 65 percent chance of suffering El Niño on the last quarter of the year.

Warmer Christmas season is also expected in some parts of the country due to the phenomenon although those months were the coldest months every year.
