#WalangPasok: Suspension of classes and work in government offices on November 20, 2018 in Metro Manila

Mayor Joseph Estrada announced that on November 20, 2018, Tuesday, there will be a suspension of classes and work in government offices in Metro Manila.

Classes in all level and work in government offices are cancelled. This is line with the arrival of President Xi Jinping of China.

The Chinese leader is set to visit the country on the aforementioned date.

According to the Executive Order No. 41 that Mayor Estrada signed On November 16, Friday, classes and work in government agencies are suspended to assure the order when President Xi Jinping arrives.

This is also to assure the safety of all the students in Manila, as well as all the workers in government offices.

The Chinese President is expected to visit Malacanang and the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park.

President Xi Jinping will be staying in the Philippines until November 21.

It was earlier reported that the Chinese President is set to visit the Philippines.

Former Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano disclosed this news last August.

“We are looking forward to President Xi visiting the country this year but we are still talking about specific dates. We are working as if the visit will push through. I think both sides wanted it,” he said in an interview.

Under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, this will be the first of President Xi Jinping in the country.

On the other hand, it was said that Duterte gained more criticisms because of his strong tie with the Chinese government.
