President Duterte Declares September 2 As Special Non-Working Holiday

President Rodrigo Duterte has issued the Republic Act. No 11120 declaring September 2 as a new special non-working holiday.

RA 11120 declaring September 2 of every year a special non-working day has been declared by President Duterte.

The Republic Act was only declaring the holiday only in the province of Ifugao in commemorating the surrender of Japanese Imperial Army Gen. Tomoyuki Yamashita to the Philippines.

Special Non-Working Holiday

The Ifugao Provincial Government with Kiangan municipality, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PBAO), and the Military Shrines Service (MSS) should conduct meaningful activities appropriate to the event.

Local government officials, non-government businesses, religious, civic groups, and other organizations will be the participants of the programs.

The new special holiday takes effect on Tuesday (November 15, 2018) fifteen (15) days after its official publication.
