Victoria’s Secret CEO Jan Singer resigns amid the issues regarding the sales of the company and its models.

Following the much-talked about VS lingerie fashion show which happened just recently, the news of Singer’s resignation circulated on business news.

It was stated in a report of ABS-CBN Business that the company is facing sales slump and the issue regarding the lack of diversity in its line’s during the iconic fashion show.

The source who knew about this issue, on the other hand, did not confirm when will be the exact date of Singer’s resignation.

Singer, stepped in as the CEO of Victoria’s Secret in 2016.

L Brands, VS’ parent company, also declined to release a statement about this.

Based on the report, news about Singer’s resignation came less than a week after the controversial statement of marketing director Ed Razek in a Vogue interview.

Razek stated that Victoria’s secret refuses to accept transgender models or those with “plus size” body figure.

“We attempted to do a television special for plus-sizes (in 2000). No one had any interest in it, still don’t,” he said during the interview.

He added that their company will not follow Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty line, which caters to plus size women,  just to be “politically correct”.

The marketing director also stressed out that Victoria’s Secret is a “specialty business” and it does not accommodate the needs of everybody.

Aside from this issue on models, the clothing and lingerie company is also facing lower sales from last year.

According to the report, the sales of Victoria’s Secret decreased 8 percent in 2017.
