Based on the report from ABS-CBN, Ibarra Mariano graduated Philippine Law School in 1967 but it took a while for him to take the bar exam.

51 years after school, Ibarra Mariano is still hopeful on his second attempt to be a lawyer in order to help other people and fix the unruly cops.

Mariano was among the first to finish the second set of bar examinations and come out of the University of Santo Tomas.

The retired police colonel wore a transparent backpack and ID with his reviewer on his right hand. He is one of the oldest among the 8,701 bar examinees this year.

According to the report, Ibarra Mariano shared what he thought about the exam. He said it was not really hard but it is confusing and time-consuming.

“All the important provisions of law are not even asked in the bar (examination),” Mariano added.

Mariano said he had worries about his handwriting which have been affected by his age. He just hoped the bar examiner would understand his answers.

He said he prayed to God that he’ll be given good health to finish the bar exam so that he will become a lawyer by next year.
