Giant sea creatures were caught over some parts of Palawan, is this a sign of another calamity that may strike the country?

Recently, the fisher folks of Palawan caught four giant groupers (Lapu-Lapu) with a length of 1 ½ to 2 meters weighing about 100 kilograms each.

The residents of the area who found the giant sea creatures brought the huge Lapu-lapu at the fish port for selling.

In Brooks point, Palawan, fishermen caught a giant grouper weighing about 100 kilograms and a Blue Marlin (Malasugi) with a weight of 80 kilos.

Marine Conservationist Glenn Mariano explained that Palawan is last ecological frontier in the Philippines wherein it has a rich marine ecosystem containing unique sea creatures.

Mariano also disclosed the speculations linking the appearance of huge sea creatures in shallow waters to an impending catastrophe.

The marine expert explained that there is still no enough evidence to prove the claims.

He also said that the appearance of deep-sea creatures in shallow waters might be only an effect of climate change.
