4th Mandaue-Mactan Bridge Expected To Start In 2019

The feasibility study on the upcoming 4th Mandaue-Mactan Bridge was expected to start in 2019 and its construction will follow after 8 months.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Emil Sadain said that the feasibility study for the new Mandaue-Mactan Bridge will start in January 2019.

Sadain said that the construction of the 420-meter long bridge connecting mainland Cebu to Mactan Island would start eight months later after the feasibility student.

4th Mandaue-Mactan Bridge

The officials from the National Economic Development Authority (Neda), Department of Finance, Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas and the Department of Budget and Management together with Sadain held a meeting discussing the project.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) would fund the project allocating P3 billion.

The bridge was expected to be accomplished in four years of construction starting 2019 until 2023.

4th Mandaue-Mactan Bridge

The DPWH Usec said that the agency and JICA representatives are expected to hold a meeting discussing the feasibility study of the bridge on November 21, 2018.

“Just yesterday (Thursday), we have finalized the preparation on the documentation for the high-level discussion. The 420-meter long, four-lane bridge will be connected to the existing national highway,” Sadain said.

The Mandaue-Mactan Bridge would be the 4th bridge to be accomplished after the completion of the third bridge on 2021.
