Katarina is getting ready to fulfill her dream of winning an international beauty title.
Winning in various beauty pageants is not new to Pinay beauty queens anymore.w
In previous years, representative from the Philippines were able to bring home the crown. Among those standout beauties are Gloria Diaz who won Miss Universe 1969. Pia Wurtzbach also won the same title back in 2015.
Kylie Verzosa won the Miss International 2016 crown while Teresita Ssen Marquez won as the first ever Pinay Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017. And the list goes on and on.

During the send off for her before she will compete for Miss World 2018 in Sanya, China, Katarina answered the question.
“Why should you be the next Miss World?” and here is her answer based on the report published on GMA News’ site.
I would have to say that I should be the next Miss World because I know my potentials and I know the potentials of my country and the Filipinos.
I think right now we need somebody who is optimistic, who understands that impossibilities… that’s just a word. And with that said, this world now and with everything going on, it needs that little bit of sunshine, if you will. I think I can be that. Thank you.
In a photo, she even showed that the back of her mobile phone has a queen of spade and the words “Miss World Katarina” were written.
In 2013, actress-beauty queen Megan Young wrote the name of Philippines in Miss World history as she was the first-ever Pinay to win the crown.
