President Duterte Will Cancel Renewal Of ABS-CBN Franchise Due To Gabby Lopez’ Alleged “Theft” and “Swindling”
ABS-CBN FRANCHISE – The renewal of ABS-CBN Franchise may be hindered by President Duterte due to the alleged “theft” and “swindling” by Eugenio Lopez III.
In the previous article, President Rodrigo Duterte will hand Certificates of Land Ownership Award to the Ati tribe residing in Boracay, following up on his statement about the Boracay refromation.
Some 3.1 hectares of land located in Brgy. Manocmanoc will be distributed. government officials are currently working on the Registry of Deeds for the issuance of the said certificate to 48 members of the tribe. The qualification of 60 members from the Tumandok tribe is yet to be deterimined.

Recently, on his speech on the distribution of CLOA, Duterte opened up a possibility that he will not proceed with the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise. He noted some points which led him to make this decision, even calling Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, ABS-CBN’s chairman emeritus, a “thief” and a swindler.
A Facebook page named “Maharlika” posted that portion of Duterte’s speech regarding the franchise. You can watch the video here.
