Rico Yan’s Unexpected Death Leaves Realization to Jolina Magdangal
JOLINA MAGDANGAL – Magandang Buhay host Jolina Magdangal spoke about the unexpected death of her late friend Rico Yan.
One of the celebrities who died at a young age is matinee idol Rico Yan, a close friend of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin. His unexpected death has left countless hearts broken. It was in March 2002 when the actor died.
Rico had a vacation with his friends in Palawan during that time. They stayed at a resort in Puerto Princesa and attended a party the night before he was found dead. Among those who were with him was his fellow actor Dominic Ochoa.
It was past midnight when Rico Yan and his friends went back to their cottage. They slept with the actor taking the loft of the cottage. At 9:00 o’clock in the morning, Dominic Ochoa found him lifeless. He died of cardiac arrest.
Rico Yan’s unexpected death left sadness and realization to many people. One of them is his fellow Gimik member Jolina Magdangal.
During a recent episode of the ABS-CBN morning program Magandang Buhay, Jolina recalled the death of the young actor.
Based on a report on Philippines’ Ultimate Showbiz Hub (PUSH), Jolina Magdangal expressed that Rico Yan’s unexpected death made her realize that death does not depend on age.
“Dati ang thinking ko ang mga sumasakabilang-buhay lang ay ‘yung mga matatanda na. Kasi matatanda na sila, mahina na sila.
Pero noong namatay si Rico Yan… Siguro it took me one day, bumalik pa ako ng burol para lang mapuntahan siya,” she said.
Based on the report, Jolina Magdangal expressed that she cannot believe that someone of her age can also die too. She admitted that Rico Yan’s unexpected death had a huge impact on her.
“Parang ang akala ko lang ay matatanda. Pero anytime pala, kahit anong edad mo, kapag kinuha ka, tapos ang buhay,” the Magandang Buhay host said.
Until now that it has been more than a decade since Rico Yan died, many people are missing him and will never forget the handsome young actor who has a very jolly personality.
Rico’s ex-girlfriend, Claudine Barretto, is still wearing the watch the late actor has given her.
