Lea Salonga defends Aga Muhlach’s controversial statements against Trillanes.
LEA SALONGA DEFENDS AGA – The prominent Broadway singer Lea Salonga received comments after defending Aga Muhlach’s stand against Senator Trillanes.
Aga Muhlach expressed controversial statements against Trillanes during his GGV guesting with Bea Alonzo to promote their film “First Love” in one of the show’s segments.
The said portion of Tanong Mo, Mukha Mo, it has been deleted already and was never aired on national television but it has surfaced online to where the actor has actually said, “Bakit ba? Ano ba talaga ang gusto mong mangyari? Nakakapagod na minsan. Kahit sinong presidente na lang ang umuupo, sinisiraan. Ito, ginagawa naman ng presidente natin na nakaupo ngayon yung ginagawa niya.”
This statement was lambasted by lawyer Jesus Falcis indicating, “Artista ka nga lang talaga Aga Muhlach, isa kang walang alam sa pulitika.” To which, the attorney’s statement has been lambasted as well by veteran singer Richard Reynoso.
And now, the Broadway singer Lea Salonga, a known close friend of the actor, has defended him based on the post of Ogie Rosa on Twitter where he wrote, “Lea Salonga defends Aga: It is our right and duty to criticize our leaders. Ayaw magsalita tungkol sa inflation pero “it’s our duty to criticize” pagdating kay Trillanes? Seriously, what is happening to you, [Lea Salonga]?
But, on the other hand, the singer has a hit back to this saying that the internet has been selective in terms of which among her posts to highlight. She added that the Senator being outspoken as he is may be great but he also needs to be open to being criticized as well.
She said, “And it’s great that he is as outspoken as he is. But by the same token, he needs to be open to criticism from others, too.”
