Few Hours After Boracay Soft-Opening, Garbage & Plastic Cups Spotted Scattered In The Island

Scattered garbages and plastic cups were spotted a few hours after the most-anticipated Boracay soft-opening after six-month rehabilitation.

On Monday (October 15, 2018), the Boracay Island conducted its soft-opening after six months of the rehabilitation process.

The Philippine government did its best to restore and revive the so-called “Cesspool” island ruined by improper garbage disposal and pollution.

The government was able to rehabilitate the island and restore the natural beauty of Boracay Island after it was temporarily closed to the tourists for six months.

Recently, a Facebook user named Cheri Mercado has uploaded the photos of scattered garbages and plastic cups in the top tourist destination a few hours after the dry run started.

In the photos, it can be seen that styro cups, plastic cups, and plastic spoons were scattered along the newly-restored island.

The social media users have also expressed their reactions regarding the incident:

Juliet Repono: “Ahahaha..Pansinin niyo yong dent ng cup nagkatulad…Wala talagang magawa Ang may gawa nito..Magkano kaya talent fee nito nu?”

McRobin ArchitectDesign: “ I think they should put some garbage box in the area, so no reason for this people to throwing their garbage everywhere.”
