DOT Releases New List Of Approved Establishments For Boracay Reopening

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has released the new list of approved establishments to operate for Boracay reopening on October 26, 2018.

Boracay Island is almost complete and seems ready for its reopening after six months of rehabilitation and restoration.

However, the country’s top tourist destination sets stricter rules and regulations to maintain the cleanliness and peace on the island.

Approved Establishments

Recently, the Tourism department revealed that 68 establishments with 3,519 rooms are only approved to operate for the reopening of Boracay island.

On Saturday (October 13, 2018), Secretary Roy Cimatu of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) said that government agencies will closely monitor the dry run of Boracay’s reopening from October 15 to 25.

Cimatu also emphasized that they will also enforce a stricter “no compliance, no operation” policy for hotels and other buildings in the island.

Approved Establishments

“We will be monitoring a lot of things, from managing the entrance, exit, and stay of the tourists, to enforcing rule of law on establishments that have been found to be non-compliant to laws and regulations,” Cimatu said quoted by News5.

The DENR chief also said that they will not hesitate to close operating establishments without clearance from the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF).

Meanwhile, here is the list of approved establishments to operate starting October 26 in the popular tourist spot.
