PH Expects 70-75% of El Niño Phenomenon, Research Says

The Philippines is expecting a 70-75 percent El Niño phenomenon this month of October or November, according to the result of a research.

The country is now expected to experience northeast monsoon (Amihan) after the termination of Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Earlier this months, the state weather bureau PAGASA announced that the rainy season has finally ended.

Recently, the Twitter page “IM Ready” reported that there is a 70 to 75 percent possibility that the Philippines might experience El Niño phenomenon.

The International Research Institute for Climate and Society conduct a research and found that an El Niño phenomenon might occur this October or November 2018 continuing through winter December 2018-February 2019.

PAGASA also raised an El Niño watch in the country but the weather phenomenon will most likely maintain weak strength.
