Tourism Secretary Says Tourists Should Manage Expectations On Boracay Soft Opening
The popular tourist destination Boracay Island is set for a soft opening on October 26, 2018, after the six months of rehabilitation.
Boracay Island has been closed to the tourists last April 26, 2018, for a six-month rehabilitation due to the increasing amount of pollution in the area.
The Philippine government conducts numerous rehabilitation process to restore the beauty and the peaceful ambiance in the island.
The famous tourist spot was set to re-open and will start to accept tourists again on October 26 during their soft opening.
However, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that tourists should control their expectations of Boracay Island,
The country’s top tourist destination remained as one of the best in Asia voted in Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
Boracay got the second spot on the magazine list as it remains to be the top interest of the foreign tourists.
Puyat advised the tourists who will visit Boracay to manage their expectation during the soft opening after the rehabilitation.
“We would like to take this opportunity to tell our tourists to manage their expectations on Boracay’s soft opening. We also encourage them to be mindful and responsible tourists of the island,” Puyat said quoted by Philstar.
