Senator Trillanes Describes Mocha Uson’s Resignation As ‘Welcome Development’
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has described the resignation of PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson as ‘a welcome development’.
Over the past few days, Mocha Uson’s resignation as PCOO Assistant Secretary has been the headlines of several local news outlets and social media pages.
Mocha Uson said that she decided to make a sacrifice and step down from the position after receiving massive criticisms.
Recently, Senator Trillanes said that the resignation of Mocha Uson is a welcome development although Sen. Risa Hontiveros believes that it was an ‘extremely belated gesture’.
“That is a welcome development kasi marami na tayong kababayan na nagrereklamo sa approach ni Asec Mocha sa paghahatid ng mensahe ng Duterte administration,” Trillanes said quoted by MSN.
In September last year, Trillanes filed graft and libel charges against Mocha Uson for allegedly leading the circulation of fake news on his supposed offshore bank accounts.
Previously, Senator Hontiveros thinks that Uson’s resignation is “too little, too late” after the proliferation of fake news in the country.
Hontiveros even argued that the damage caused by the fake news allegedly sponsored by Mocha Uson cannot be undone.
