Earthquake with 4.4 Magnitude Hits Compostela Valley

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded a 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Compostela Valley.

Following the 4.1 magnitude quake jolting a part of Davao Occidental on Tuesday, another quake has recently hit another part of the Davao region – the Compostela Valley.

Based on a recent report on Manila Bulletin, a quake with a magnitude of 4.4 hit ComVal at 5:44 in the morning today, October 4. According to Phivolcs, the quake was plotted 6 kilometers away northeast of Pantukan town.

Based on the report, the tectonic origin-quake had a depth of 26 kilometers. Fortunately, according to Pantukan and ComVal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils, no damage and injury caused by the quake were reported.
