Netizens react to the special mention of Micheal Che about Filipino nurses during Emmy Awards

This year’s Emmy Award’s host Michael Che mentioned Filipino nurses during his opening spiel and this received reactions from netizens.

He said, “TV has always had a diversity problem. I mean, can you believe they did 15 seasons of ER without one Filipino nurse? Have you been to a hospital?”

Other races have known Filipino nurses to be diligent and hard working. Some even prefer hiring them in hospitals and for personal health care.

Aside from the work ethics, other races also choose nurses who are Filipinos because of their compassion.

It is a known fact that a large population of nurses in the US are Pinoys. The TV series ER, which story revolves around the lives and struggles of doctors and nurses, is based in Seattle.

EJ Ramos DAvid, PhD said on his post that majority of the nurses there are Filipinos.

Another netizen, Erick Esteban, who apparently auditioned for the show said that he has been telling the joke about Filipino nurses and ER since 1997.

Other netizens, pointed out the good traits of Pinoy nurses who are working abroad.

Because of this special mention by the Saturday Night Live star Michael Che during the recently concluded Emmy Awards, Filipino nurses gain recognition on national TV.

Indeed, their contribution to the health care industry, especially in the United States of America, is quite remarkable.

The famous host himself knows about that fact and he pointed out the importance that Pinoy nurses should be included in the top-rated series.

This simple recognition will surely boost the morale of Filipinos who are taking care of other races’ health.
