Based on the Facebook, the NAPOLCOM which is led by chairman Eduardo Año approved the Resolution 2018-435. Año is also the officer-in-charge of the Department of Interior and Local Government.

Rogelio Casurao, the Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of the Commission, expressed that the family of a uniformed member of the PNP who died while on duty is previously entitled to a monthly annuity.

The said annuity is equal to 50% of the base and the longevity pay of the police. The person who died should have served for not less than 20 years.

Based on the social media post, following the approval of the NAPOLCOM, the PNP will now implement the computation on Republic Act 8551 Section 34. It is with regards to the retirement benefits of a uniformed member of the PNP.

It reportedly “grants the beneficiaries a monthly retirement pay of 50 percent of the base pay and longevity pay in the next grade higher than the permanent grade”.
