Former child star Rhed Bustamante is living this kind of life now after losing showbiz offers
Rhed Bustamante is living a different life now from the previous one she had as a child star.
Her first TV appearance was in 2012 through It’s Showtime‘s ‘Bida Kapamilya’ segment. Then she starred in Galema: Anak ni Zuma after six years. Rhed’s charm in front of the camera caught the attention of the late director Wenn Deramas.
The former child star was also included in movies ‘Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy’ and ‘Maria Leonora Teresa’ and ‘Seklusyon’.
Through the drama series ‘Flor de Liza’, her popularity was boosted and she was tagged as one of the best child “bida-kontrabida”.
She received a special jury price during the Metro Manila Film Festival 2016.
Rhed Bustamante expected that her star in showbiz will continue to shine brighter.
“Akala ko po pag nag-artista ka, maraming mag-ooffer sa’yo pero hindi po pala ganun,” she said during the interview in ‘Rated K’.
The family of the former child star is now living in Bulacan after their previous landlord forced them to leave. They were not able to pay the rent.
As of now, Rhed’s father could not work because of his illness. Their family’s financial support comes from their profit in selling food at the train station in Sampaloc.
The child star is also suffering from Incontinentia Pigmenti. It is a rare disease that affects the skin, hair, teeth and the central nervous system.
When asked if she is willing to go back to show business, Rhed Bustamante said yes. Despite of her desire to have showbiz projects once again, she promised to focus also on her studies.
Currently, the child star is in Grade 6. At the age of 11, Rhed has already learned a lot of life’s lessons.
She shared that one thing she learned is never to expect too much and just pray to the Lord.
