Two Baggage Inspectors Robbed A Taiwanese Passenger In NAIA

Taiwanese Passenger Knaved By Two Baggage Inspectors In Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)

BAGGAGE INSPECTORS – Authorities are currently investigating a robbery involving two baggage inspectors and one Taiwanese passenger.

In the airport, you must stay alert, especially when you carry too many baggage. You might be surprised if you found out that someone planted a bullet on your bag or getting robbed without you knowing. Given the fact that you are in a huge area like the airport, you cannot simply trust anyone, especially some employees.

For instance, a lady expressed her complains regarding her damaged luggage. She further revealed that two out of her six baggage were opened and damaged; the pink baggage zipper was open while the navy blue bag has a huge crack.

Thus, she complained about the alleged anomaly of NAIA staff and personnel assigned in handling her luggage. Luckily for her, there were no missing or stolen items. However, she was dissappointed of the incident.

This is what a passenger failed to do as he found out that he was robbed. Little did he know that it was the two inspectors who checked his baggage.

In a report in Remate, the officers who robbed the Taiwanese are Security Screening Officers Nievel Gorpe and Reinelle Alvarez. They took $2,600 from the passenger in August 30, according to the statement from Office for Transportation Security (OTS).

According to the initial investigation from the agency, Gorpe violated the standard operating procedure when he checked the bag without permission from the owner.

As per the report, OTS Administrator Usec. Arturo Evangelista said that they cannot tolerate corruption, inasmuch as they cannot stand having these kinds of people entrusted with the security of the riding public.
