Carl Malone Montecido, finalist of TNT Season 1 is still hoping to get his consolation prize from the contest
‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’ Season 1 finalist Carl Malone Montecido from Bacolod City revealed that he has not received his consolation prize worth P100,000 until now.
The grand finals of TNT’s first season was on March 11, 2017.
Currently, the nationwide singing contest in ‘It’s Showtime’ is on its third season. With that span of time, the blind man is still hoping to get his prize.
His heartbreaking story was first published in PEP. Theater director Paul Ballano shared Carl Malone’s story.
According to Ballano, he was able to meet Carl through Lyndon Tupas. He is the person who temporarily allows Carl and his mom to occupy a space within his property.
On his Facebook post, Ballano elaborated what happened to the dream of the poor blind man.
“He shared his experience. Hating to watch the show who gave him Fame but NOT A GOOD LIFE. A promise that was broken. The hardest part… HIS TALENT FEE IS STILL WITH ABSCBN until now,” the director said.
The reason why Carl’s consolation prize was not given to him is because of legality. He needed to provide some BIR documents.
With this, Ballano stressed out that someone could have help Carl since he is blind.
“Pambihira naman mga kapatid s industriya. BULAG yung tao!!! Paano nya magagawa ang mga papeles na yan? Tayo ngang nakakakita hirap mag ayos di ba? You should have given him an assistance, O ginawa nyong oportunidad ito ng di sya mabayaran ng buo sa isang bagay na kanyang pinaghirapan!!” the director pointed out.
Ballano also shared what Carl Malone said regarding what happened to him in ‘TNT’.
“Nakakalungkot ng sinabi nyang DI NGA PO NILA AKO BINIGYAN NG CHANCE NA MAPAKITA SA TV NA KAYA KO RIN… SIGURO KASI BULAG AKO.”
The director called out to netizens to share his post until it will catch the attention of ABS-CBN and ‘It’s Showtime’.
