Wanda Teo says that Tulfo brothers should not return the P60-million.
WANDA TEO – The former tourism chief Wanda Teo said that her brother, Ben Tulfo, should not return the P60-million tourism ad placement on their television program.
To recall, it was last May when President Rodrigo Duterte asked to probe the P60-million made by the Department of Tourism to the program of Tulfo brothers due to lack of documents.
Teo together with her brothers, broadcasters Erwin and Ben Tulfo, brothers, face the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee about the controversy today, August 14.
This is in line with the controversial P60-million tourism ad placement on her brother’s show in PTV-4 insisting that it has gone through “proper channels” and was “a government-to-government contract” to where the payments were made directly to PTV-4.
According to a report from ABS-CBN, Teo has stated, “Natapos na po kasi ang kontrata. Nagastos na po iyung pera… saan kukunin ang pera pambayad?”
This is after declining when asked if her brothers should return the money.
Moreover, she shared that her brother has thought of returning the but eventually changed his mind.
“Sabi niya titingnan niya kung saan kukunin ‘yung pera. Titingnan niya kung saan kukunin ‘yung pera kasi nagasta na niya ang pera,” she said.
Also, Tulfo, for his part, questioned as to why they should return the money if they have their obligations delivered faithfully.
“Returning the money is tantamount to saying that we did something illegal,” he said as per the report.
He then stated after Topacio has said that the brother should return the amount of money even if they still have to ask lawyers first about the matter, “Nagsalita na s’ya sa media without an approval because he’s not representing for me, he’s representing Wanda. And that would be tantamount to what? Conspiracy.”
