Philippine Mobile Network Like Smart & Globe Will Launch 5G Data Connection Next Year
The Philippine mobile network giants such as Smart and Globe are about to roll out the 5G for faster mobile internet connection next year.
5G network will be next year’s plot network promising a lower latency and faster mobile internet connection.
Smart Communications Inc. has already announced its plan to launch 5G by the first half of 2019.
PLDT Inc.’s mobile subsidiary confirmed its partnership with Ericson in line with its intention to roll out 5G that will initially focus on Luzon.
On June 2018, company chair and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan said during PLDT’s annual stockholders that the commercial viability of 5G was still lacking standards and 5G capable devices.
Globe Telecom has also announced the rollout of 5G in partnership with China’s tech giant ‘Huawei’.
Globe also said that its quality services would be available to its customers by the second quarter of 2019.
Smart is currently installing 5G-compatible radio equipment and now has more than 2, 000 5G-ready sites.
PLDT explained that 5G offers an extremely high-speed internet connection with low latency that can improve the services of the government and private sectors.
