Tectonic-Origin Earthquake Jolts Part of Cagayan
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that a quake has recently shaken Calayan, Cagayan.
Recently, on its social media account, the Phivolcs posted details about the earthquake that recently jolted Calayan, Cagayan at 07:22:15 in the morning, August 6, 2018. It has a magnitude of 4.2.
Furthermore, based on the post, the quake jolted 20.09°N, 120.39°E – 144 km N 52° W of Calayan with a 31 km. depth of focus. It has a tectonic origin.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there is no expected damage caused by the earthquake and as well as aftershocks.
