Bacolod Private Hospital “Our Lady Of Mercy Specialty Hospital” Recently Closed

Bacolod Private Hospital Officially Closed

BACOLOD PRIVATE HOSPITAL – Bacolod Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital (BOLOMSH), a private hospital located in Bacolod City, was recently closed after a series of unfortunate events.

It was July 31(Tuesday) when Bacolod Our Lady Of Mercy Specialty Hospital declared themselves officially closed. This was because PhilHealth denied their accreditation.

The hospital has not been paid by PhilHealth from March until May 2018 with an amount of P25 million, so they were forced to close to avoid further loses. 401 hospital employees and 213 dialysis patients are affected by the closing of the Bacolod private hospital.

On Monday (June 18, 2018), the hospital has started to discharge patients after receiving the letter from PhilHealth-Western Visayas. On June 07, 2018, Lourdes Diocson of PhilHealth-Western Visayas stated that the application of Lady of Mercy for continuous accreditation as a Level 2 provider has been denied, according to the letter of Dr. Reynold Wong.

That being said, the employees eventually lost their jobs. Sante Mamon, president of the union of employees in the hospital, can’t help but cry because of this.

According to the report in Bombo Radyo, Mamon complained about the sudden closing of the hospital because PhilHealth has not yet decided on the Motion for Reconsideration(MR) that the management has submitted.

The president hoped that they wait for the PhilHealth to declare before they decided to close BOLOMSH.

As per the report, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia should have intervened to file the MR to the manager now in Negros Health Care Management System Incorporated.

More importantly, the closing affects the 400 workers who lost their jobs. They will also be given half of the salary instead of the whole that was promised to them by the management.
