Cleveland Star Jordan Clarkson Could Possibly Join Gilas Pilipinas
The Filipino-American Cleveland Cavaliers’ member Jordan Clarkson could possibly join Gilas Pilipinas on 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
Jordan Clarkson, a Filipino-American basketball player from the popular NBA team of Cleveland Cavaliers could possibly represent the Philippines on upcoming Asiad.
According to some reports, the Cleveland star has a great chance to join the 18-man line-up of Gilas Pilipinas.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Ricky Vargas said that Clarkson is among the men’s basketball 18-man line of the country’s national basketball team, which was submitted to Asiad organizers.
Vargas also expressed his interest in inviting Fil-Am NBA player to join Gilas Pilipinas and represent the country on Asiad this coming August 2018.
However, “Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas” was still on talks with the management of Cleveland Cavaliers for releasing Clarkson.
The 26-year-old basketball player has a Filipino passport since he was 12 years old, so he does not need to undergo on naturalization process anymore.
If Clarkson would join Gilas, he could be the flag-bearer of the Philippine delegation in the opening of Jakarta Asiad.
