Boracay Establishment Owners Disappointed Over President Duterte No Mention Of Island’s Reopening During SONA 2018
The Boracay establishment owners have expressed their disappointment after President Duterte did not mention the island’s reopening during his SONA.
Previously, the popular Boracay Island has been one of the most discussed topics in the Philippines after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the island’s closure.
The country’s most popular tourist destination is temporarily closed to the tourist for about six months to allow the government to restore and rehabilitate the island.
Recently, the YouTube channel UNTV News and Rescue has shared the video clip of the group of Boracay establishment owners expressing their disappointment after President Duterte did not mention the reopening of the tourist spot.
The residents of Boracay was expecting President Duterte to officially announce the opening of Boracay Island which did not happen.
Boracay residents were also asking the President to speed up the rehabilitation of the island so they could return to their normal way of living.
However, President Duterte mentioned in his SONA that he could not allow the decay of Boracay Island to continue.
Duterte also said that the rehabilitation effort in Boracay is the start of national effort wherein the other tourist destination in the country will follow suit.
