Duterte To Fly To Malaysia This Month
DUTERTE – President Duterte reportedly plans to go to Malaysia for two reasons – to watch the Pacquiao-Matthysse fight and to meet Prime Minister Mahathir.
The fight of Senator Manny Pacquiao and boxer Lucas Matthysse is fast approaching. In the previous article, Sean Gibbons visited Pacquiao and was convinced that he will defeat the Argentinian boxer.
Gibbons believes that with Pacquiao’s speed and agility, the fight will end with a clear decision or late stop. Pacquiao’s friend, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, already addressed his plans to the cabinet on July 9 based on a report on Rappler.
Rappler received a feed that the President will go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this month for two main reasons – the first one is to watch the fight between Pacquiao and Matthysse. Pacquiao is one of his allies of the 73-year-old President.
The second reason why Pres. Duterte will fly to Malaysia is to talk to Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohammad. He said that he will talk about “insurgency” and “ISIS”. The meeting will be on July 16, the day after Pacquiao’s fight against Matthysse.
Dr. Mahathir is the new Prime Minister of Malaysia. He took place of Najib Razak, who was arrested recently for corruption. According to the report, Duterte and Mahathir have a similar style of leadership. The latter is also known for leading his country in an “authoritarian but pragmatic” way.
