Weather Update: Enhanced ‘Habagat’ To Affect These Following Areas

PAGASA released the latest weather updates announcing that the enhanced ‘Habagat’ will affect some parts of the country.

On Monday (June 11, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced the last weather condition affecting the country’s weather system.

PAGASA Weather Specialist Shelly Ignacio said that Typhoon Domeng enhanced the southwest monsoon or locally known as ‘Habagat’ although it was already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

“’Yong binabantayan nating bagyong Domeng ay kahapon ng umaga lumabas ng Philippine area of responsibility, pero ini-enhance niya ang ating southwest monsoon o Habagat,” Ignacio said quoted by Inquirer.

The weather agency said that Western Visayas provinces would have light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms. The rest of Visayas and Mindanao would experience isolated rain showers.

The state weather bureau has also warned the residents in Luzon to prepare for possible flashfloods and landslides due to moderate to occasionally rainfall.

Enhanced ‘Habagat’

Meanwhile, Domeng was last spotted 1,770 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes after leaving PAR on Sunday (June 10, 2018).
