Court Fines Cedric Lee With P300 For Abducting Daughter
Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court Branch 277 has fined Cedric Lee with P300 for kidnapping his daughter with ex-partner Vina Morales.
On Monday (May 28, 2018), the controversial businessman Cedric Lee has been convicted by a Mandaluyong City judge after kidnapping his daughter with Vina Morales in 2016.
Judge Anthony Fama has order Lee to pay a fine of P300 on top of P50,000 in moral and civil damages to Morales after the court found Lee guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
Cedric Lee failed to return his daughter to Morales on May 14, 2016, after they both agreed in a compromise agreement, based on the court documents.
The businessman returns their daughter to the sister of Vina during a hearing on May 23, 2016.
“It is beyond cavil that the prosecution was able to establish the guilt of the accused [in] the crime of which he is charged. The action of the accused in not immediately returning the custody of the minor was premeditated, intentional and malicious as he adamantly refused to return the custody of the minor to the complainant, through her sister, when he is legally obligated to do so,” the judge said quoted by Inquirer.
Lee has been ordered by the court to pay P300 and P25,000 in moral damages and P25,000 in nominal damages to his former partner.
However, Lee denied the allegations against him and threatened Morales to sue her for libel.
