President Duterte Might Use Jet Ski On His First Visit To Philippine Rise
President Rodrigo Duterte might use a jet ski during his first visit to Philippine Rise (Benham Rise) to plant a Philippine flag on the island.
In 2016, Mr. Duterte said during the presidential campaign that he would fight to defend Benham Rise, a 13-million-hectare undersea region that lies east of Luzon from China.
Duterte becomes the headlines of several local news outlets and social media pages after saying that he would ride a jet ski going to plant a Philippine flag at the Benham Rise.
On Monday evening (May 14, 2018), Malacañang Palace said that the president may ride a jet ski before boarding a chopper back to Manila.
President Duterte was set to visit the Benham Rise on Tuesday afternoon (May 15, 2018) to mark the first anniversary of his renaming the underwater land mass to Philippine Rise.
Duterte’s chopper is expected to land in BR-Davao del Sur, one of the two landing docks of the Philippine Navy.
