JAKE ZYRUS- World-class Filipino performer Jake Zyrus replies to surfacing rumors about his alleged duet with Celine Dion on her self-titled concert in the Philippines.
In a previous report, it was stated that the Hollywood Superstar Celine Dion will be staging her first ever concert in the Philippines after the unfortunate cancellation of her supposed concert in the country last 2014.
Dubbed ‘CELINE DION LIVE 2018 Tour’, the highly-anticipated two-day concert of the singing icon will reportedly be taking place on July 19 and 20 at the Mall Of Asia Arena.
While Celine Dion’s Philippine concert leg is finally in the cards, rumors about Jake Zyrus being offered an opportunity to perform a duet with the Canadian singer spread on media.
Based on a report from MSN Entertainment citing Lionheartv’s article, Jake Zyrus released a statement in a recent blog conference addressing the issue.
In the forum, the Filipino pride said that it would be his pleasure to once again perform with Celine if given the chance. However, on the second thought, he said he would like to share such superb experience with other aspiring singers, more particularly little kids who also look up to the award-winning foreign singer.
While Zyrus remains uncertain of the spreading rumors involving Celine Dion, he stressed in the same blog conference that his duet with another internationally-acclaimed Filipino singer Jessica Sanchez will definitely push through on his upcoming ‘Music & Me’ concert.
“‘Di ko po alam. Pero matutuloy duet namin ni Jessica, kami po ni Jessica. Well, if ever kung matuloy… dalawang ano lang naman po ‘yun sa akin, eh. Kung halimbawa kami pong dalawa ay may (duet), siyempre naman po it’d be an honor,” he said.
“Ang dami kong nakikita na mga young new belters out there na sobrang nakikita ko ‘yung bright future nila. Eh minsan, iniimagine ko na kung anong naramdaman ko noon, when I was that kid, that little girl with the long hair, na to be on the same stage with Miss Celine Dion, of course gusto kong mai-share ‘yung feeling na ‘yun na isa sa mga bata na maka-duet yung iniidolo nila,” Zyrus further added.
It can be recalled that before Jake Zyrus’ dramatic transformation came to light, Charice Pempengco previously performed a duet with various iconic singers, both locally and internationally, including Celine Dion.
Charice had a privilege to sing a duet with Celine Dion last September 15, 2008 during the latter’s concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
