PH Heat Index Reaches Dangerous Levels, PAGASA Says
The state weather bureau PAGASA said that the country’s heat index has already reached the dangerous level in some provinces.
On Friday (April 27, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the temperatures continue to increase across the country.
The weather agency revealed that some provinces in the country had already reached a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius (°C), which is already considered under dangerous levels.
Heat indices of 41°C to 54°C are considered “dangerous”, which could possibly cause cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke.
On Thursday (April 26, 2018), Dagupan City Pangasinan reached a heat index of 48.2°C, while 45°C was recorded over Ambulong, Batangas; Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; and Cuyo, Palawan, according to PAGASA’s Gener Quitlong.
PAGASA said that the easterlies would continue to bring warm weather throughout the country on Friday, April 27, 2018.
Meanwhile, Davao region, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and Soccsksargen could possibly experience scattered rain and thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain.
